Shooting woes doom MGCCC women

Mississippi Gulf Coast struggled shooting Thursday night and dropped an MACJC South contest at Copiah-Lincoln 52-43 in Wesson.

 

Breannah McCullah (So., Edwards/Raymond) led the Lady Bulldogs (5-4, 1-1 South) with 10 points. Kayla Simmons (Fr., Brandon/Brandon) and Allison Martin (Fr., Edwards/Raymond) had nine each.

 

Gulf Coast held the Lady Wolves (10-1, 1-1) to 33.3 percent from the floor, but the Lady Bulldogs shot just 27.3 percent.

 

Nakendra Owens (Fr., Port Gibson/Port Gibson) and Mia Goolsby (Fr., Greenville, S.C./Legacy Early College) led Gulf Coast with six rebounds.

 

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Monday with a trip to Southwest. Tipoff in Summit is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
