ELLISVILLE – Four Jones College Bobcats have been selected as All-Region 23 for the 2019 season.
Forward Esmeralda Figueroa (Northeast Jones) and defender Lucy Critchell (London, England) were named to the women's team. Defender Adrian Mondragon (Northwest Rankin) and goalkeeper Callum Harley (Whitney Bay, England) were named to the men's team.
Figueroa led the team and was fourth in the MACJC in scoring with 17 goals, five assists and 39 points.
Critchell started every game and scored two goals and had two assists.
Figueroa helped Jones to a 12-7 record and a berth in the MACJC semifinals in 2019. They helped the Lady Bobcats to a 26-10 record in two seasons and MACJC and Region 23 Tournament titles in 2018. They were instrumental in helping Jones to an NJCAA South District playoff appearance in 2018.
Harley was credited with 109 saves, which is second in the MACJC and eighth in the NJCAA. He had a save percentage of .820, which is third in the NJCAA. He had a 12-6-1 record in goal, which was tied for first in the MACJC and ranked seventh nationally. Harley was named MACJC Goalkeeper of the Week four times this season. He was also named All-Region 23 in 2018.
Mondragon was a mainstay on the backline for the Bobcats and posted four assists on the season. He was named All-MACJC in 2018.
Harley and Mondragon helped the Bobcats to back-to-back MACJC and Region 23 Tournament titles during their two seasons. Jones also appeared in consecutive NJCAA district tournaments.
Jones was 26-11-1 the past two seasons.
